HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MALTESE VAT LOTTERY
Simply follow these 5 easy steps!
Step 1: Collect Your VAT Receipts
Keep a keen eye out for all your VAT receipts, whether you're a local resident or a visitor to Malta. These receipts can come from various establishments, such as restaurants, shops, hotels, and more. Every VAT receipt is your potential ticket to winning prizes!
Step 2: Ensure Receipts Are Intact
Make sure your VAT receipts are legible and intact. Damaged or illegible receipts may not be eligible for the lottery draw.
Step 3: Prepare Your Receipts
Gather your VAT receipts and organise them. It's a good idea to keep them in an envelope or folder for safekeeping.
Step 4: Include Your Contact Information
On the back of each VAT receipt, write your Name, ID Card and Phone number. This information is crucial for contacting you in case you win.
Step 5: Submission Options
You have two convenient options for submitting your VAT receipts:
By Hand: Visit the Marsa Industrial Estate at MRA 007C. Take Garibaldi Street, turn left into the industrial area and stop in the corner. Look for the office on the left; you'll see Idroplast opposite. The staff there will be happy to assist you.
By Post: Alternatively, send your prepared VAT receipts by post to:
Department of Public Lotto, Fiscal Receipts Lottery
P.O. Box 288

WE HAVE ANSWERS
Do not hesitate to send us an email if you can't find what you're looking for.
Participating in the Malta Fiscal Receipt Lottery is a breeze. All you need to do is jot down your Name, ID Card and Phone number on the back of your receipts. That's it! You're now eligible to take part in the monthly draw.
Mark your calendar for the 15th of each month. The Malta Fiscal Receipt Lottery covers receipts issued between the 1st and the last day of the previous month. This means every receipt you collect during the month has a chance to make you a winner the following month!
Good news! All VAT receipts, regardless of the holder's ID number or nationality, are eligible for the monthly lottery draw. This means thousands of people send in millions of VAT receipts every month, all hoping to strike it lucky!
All the receipts received in the month are put in a raffle. If your receipt is drawn you are a winner. Winnings are based on the total value of your receipt, including the cents, multiplied by 100: a €15.40 receipt wins €1,540 and a €66.72 receipt wins €6,672. The minimum prize is €233 and the maximum is €11,647.
The Ministry for Finance publishes the winning ID card numbers of each monthly draw as a PDF. This site republishes every draw since November 2016 as searchable pages, updated automatically within an hour of publication.
